What I Value Most

Growing up in the heart of Cleveland teaches you many things. One being that their sports teams will age you rapidly and break your heart on countless occasions. However, against many odds, this year the Cleveland Cavaliers have somehow made it to the NBA Finals.

It has always been a dream of mine to attend at least one Cleveland championship game. This dream was quickly squelched when I found out the prices. For nosebleed seats, single game tickets are starting at $750. To put this in perspective I spent $14 on upper deck tickets during the regular season. Mid range tickets reach $20,000 while some seats in the front row are going for as high as $60,000. These numbers are staggering for me to consider ever spending. In many cases this is what one person will make in a year. Even if I made that type of money, I couldn’t live with myself if my team ended up losing and I had spent $60,000 on a measly 48 minutes of entertainment.

While thinking about this, I realized that people will always have money for what is important to them, even if it is as menial as a sports game which ultimately doesn’t have much lasting value. I began to think of what’s important to me. Growing up in a larger family, the emphasis was always placed on the personal rather than material. People who have been with you through everything are what truly matter. My fiancé, my family, close friends, have all invested and help shape me into the person I am today. This also played a crucial role in my development as a portrait artist. Understanding people and learning who they are helps you create a more timeless piece of art. I understand first hand that being a part of a large family doesn’t allow for much of a budget. Because of this I am making a limited time offer through the summer months for a special family portrait package- 2: 12×16 Head Portraits for $650 ($325 each) or 3: 9×12 Head Portraits for $825 ($275 each).

There is something special and timeless about having a piece of art made of someone you love. While photographs are nice for a time, a painting will be treasured for generations to come. If you too place high priority on those who you care about, feel free to contact me for more information on this limited time deal!
